Ramadan Food Pack 2022/1443 Hijri
Like every year, Maison Dawah embarked on its Ramadan Food Pack project a few days before the coming of the blessed month. We wanted to ensure that our vulnerable brothers and sisters have enough food at home to start the month of Ramadan. 50 foodpacks were prepared (value Rs 960 each). Distribution to beneficiaries began on Tuesday 29.03.2022.May Allah (swt) bless us all and protect us from COVID-19 and other calamities.
Follow up of Wakashio collateral victims
In a spirit of solidarity towards families in distress Maison Dawah effected two food distribution programmes on 19 August 2020 and 3 February 2021 at Rรฉsidence La Chaux and Riviรจre Des Creoles respectively.
A few months ago, in 2021, registered fishermen received a monetary compensation from the authorities.
However, there are other fishermen and people who earn a living in sea-related activities who are not registered with the authorities. It is this group of families that Maison Dawah decided to help this time.
In collaboration with an active and well-known social worker, Mr. Gino Juhel, Maison Dawah proceeded with food distribution on Monday 14 February 2022 at Petit Bel Air Stadium. 12 selected families received a food pack each worth about Rs 1,000.
In his introductory speech, Mr Gino talked about the rich history of the southern region- Ferney, Riviรจre Des Creoles etc. He thanked Maison Dawah repeatedly for this humanitarian action. Whereas Ahamad Boodoo of Maison Dawah gave an overview of the activities of Maison Dawah before explaining the teaching of Islam about our duty to give food to people, especially to those in distress. Staff of Maison Dawah also explained to the beneficiaries about the procedures to apply for SRM (Social Register of Mauritius).

Distribution of food pack and school materials
At Maison Dawah, we are currently undergoing the following activities:
- Distribution of food pack (value above Rs 1,000) to 25 needy families.
- School materials for our fellow 14 beneficiaries.
Maison Dawah needs you to assist the needy.
While many of us will be enjoying the end of the year, many families may not be so fortunate. Therefore, Maison Dawah encourages Mauritians to be generous.
To ensure that all families have the greatest possible holiday season, Maison Dawah, a socio-religious organization, is conducting a massive solidarity effort called “Dan Ou Bonus, Pas Bliรฉ Bann Pauvres”.
As Mauritians will get their end-of-year bonus each year. We ask them to provide us with non-perishable goods that we will distribute across the island in areas that are afflicted by poverty,” says Hossen Kurrimboccus, the association’s president.
Collections of non-perishable goods will take place as from December 20 to 30 at the following location:-
1. Rabita Hall in Port Louis as from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.
2. Hunain Islamic Center in Coromandel from 3:30 p.m. to 6 p.m.
3. Istanbul Snack in Rose-Hill as from 9 a.m. until 5 a.m.
4. Nalla Store in Rose-Hill as from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m.
Note that collection of provision will also take place in Phoenix as from 22-24 December from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m.
The organization hopes to distribute 400 packs of supplies worth between Rs 600 and Rs 700 this year.

SOLIDARITY 2015-2016: Maison Dawah distributes 305 food packs.
Maison Dawah, in cooperation with the Hunain Islamic Center in Coromandel and the Islamic Dawah Academy in Phoenix, distributed 305 food packages to needy families via the project ” Dan ou bonus pa Bliรฉ Bann Pauvres ” at the end of 2015/beginning of 2016.
Food was collected between the 21st and 27th of December. At the conclusion of the operation ” Dan ou bonus pa Bliรฉ Bann Pauvres ยป, Maison Dawah, the project’s originator, emphasizes that the goal was to provide food packages to 300 families, but 305 families benefited due to the generosity of Mauritians.
The total worth of the gathered goods is estimated to be Rs 198,250. 15 dedicated volunteers worked for 11 days collecting, sorting, and packing the goods before they were distributed.
Maison Dawah encouraged everyone to “save a small portion of their bonus pay for families in need” via this operation, while stressing that the donations should not be in cash. Maison Dawahโs flyer stated, ” Larzan nou pa aksepte s.v.p “.
