Maison Dawah, in cooperation with the Hunain Islamic Center in Coromandel and the Islamic Dawah Academy in Phoenix, distributed 305 food packages to needy families via the project ” Dan ou bonus pa Blié Bann Pauvres ” at the end of 2015/beginning of 2016.

Dans Ou Bonus- Sorting and packing

Food was collected between the 21st and 27th of December. At the conclusion of the operation ” Dan ou bonus pa Blié Bann Pauvres », Maison Dawah, the project’s originator, emphasizes that the goal was to provide food packages to 300 families, but 305 families benefited due to the generosity of Mauritians.

The total worth of the gathered goods is estimated to be Rs 198,250. 15 dedicated volunteers worked for 11 days collecting, sorting, and packing the goods before they were distributed.

Maison Dawah encouraged everyone to “save a small portion of their bonus pay for families in need” via this operation, while stressing that the donations should not be in cash. Maison Dawah’s flyer stated, ” Larzan nou pa aksepte s.v.p “.

Month of May 2026 Food pack Distribution

The essence of Islam is mercy, compassion, and care for one another.
The Prophet ﷺ said:
“The merciful are shown mercy by Ar-Rahman. Be merciful on the earth, and you will be shown mercy from Who is in the heavens. The womb is named after Ar-Rahman, so whoever connects it, Allah connects him, and whoever severs it, Allah severs him.”
(Narrated by Abdullah bin ‘Amr;  Jami` at-Tirmidhi 1924)

This beautiful hadith reminds us that every act of kindness draws us closer to Allah’s mercy. Inspired by this teaching, Maison Dawah continues its food pack programme in May 2026, ensuring that less fortunate families and new Muslims embracing faith feel supported, loved, and uplifted.

Each food pack contains wholesome essentials such as flour, rice, milk, sugar, tea, cereal, canned food, oil, and other nutritious items to support a balanced diet.

Alhamdulillah, 50 families are benefiting from a food pack each, with the value of each pack being around Rs 1,279. We trust that the families, including children, will find relief and happiness, tasting the sweetness of solidarity and togetherness that Islam inspires, Insha Allah.

The distribution started on 15 May 2026 and is proceeding smoothly, Alhamdulillah.

Iftar Gathering 2026 / 1447H

On Friday, 13 March 2026, Maison Dawah welcomed reverts for an Iftar Gathering. It was an evening of learning, reflection, and togetherness, beginning at 17:45 and carried out in the essence of Ramadan.

Programme Highlights

Quran Exposition
Br. Sameed guided participants through the meaning and purpose of the Quran.

14 copies of Quran in different languages were displayed. (Arabic, English, French, Creole, Mandarin, Italian, Hindi, Spanish, Somali, Russian, Portuguese, German, Quran Braille for visually impaired individuals, Pen Quran)

He explained that the Quran is Allah’s guidance for all humanity, revealed in 114 chapters, and descended during Lailatul Qadr.

Reverts were invited to approach, explore, and touch the Qurans, making the experience deeply personal.

Talk on Ramadan & Islamic Values
Br. Ahamad spoke about Ramadan as a month of change and spiritual training.

He encouraged honesty, patience, and self-control.

He reminded us to avoid sins such as lying and anger, and to embrace Dawah.

He also highlighted the status of women in Islam, stressing that men—fathers, husbands, sons, and brothers—carry the responsibility of protecting and honouring women.

The event continued with Iftar, followed by Maghrib prayer in Jamaat, and concluded with dinner shared in fellowship. Gifts as sign of goodwill were also given to the guests present. The programme ended smoothly around 19:45.

Alhamdulillah, everything unfolded successfully by Allah’s Will. The gathering reminded us of the Prophet Muhammad’s (pbuh) words:

“Whoever observes fasts during the month of Ramadan out of sincere faith, and hoping to attain Allah’s rewards, then all his past sins will be forgiven.” (Sahih al-Bukhari 38)

Reflections and Feedback from Reverts and a Non-Muslim Guest:
The reverts expressed heartfelt joy, saying “Alhamdulillah, nous in bien content, nous bien satisfait in passe ene bon moment ensemble”. They were thankful for the opportunity to experience how Muslim families observe fasting and organise iftar/namaz/dinner, and described the evening as both uplifting and memorable.

There was also a non‑Muslim guest present, who warmly appreciated being invited. She shared how thankful she was for the opportunity, noting that the programme was very enriching and that she was “content qui invite bann non-muslim, mone gagne l’opportunité pour observer et vivre couma ban musulmans garde carême et casse carême.” For them, it was a rare and meaningful experience to witness the essence of Ramadan firsthand.

This evening was not just about breaking fast—it was about building bonds, strengthening faith, and being grateful to Allah swt for the blessings of Ramadan, Alhamdulillah.

Ramadan Food pack Distribution 2026/1447H

Ramadan is the month of mercy, blessings, and multiple rewards.
The Prophet ﷺ said:
“Whoever provides food to a fasting person to break his fast with, then for him is the same reward as his (the fasting person’s), without anything being diminished from the reward of the fasting person.” (Jami` at-Tirmidhi 807)

The goal of our Ramadan food pack programme is to ensure that underprivileged families and newcomers into the fold of Islam have enough food during the holy month of Ramadan, so that they feel contented and can devote themselves to make the most of this blessed month.

Our food packs contain essential items to support a healthy, balanced diet including flour, rice, milk, sugar, tea, cereal, canned goods, oil, dates and more.

Alhamdulillah, 100 families are benefiting from a food pack each and the value of each food pack is around Rs 1,490. We are certain the families will feel very relieved and happy and taste the “vivre-ensemble” spirit of Islam, Insha Allah.

The distribution started on 19 February 2026 and is proceeding satisfactorily, Alhamdulillah.
