Distribution of Food pack & Cleaning pack to necessitous families for September 2026

Islam views feeding the poor as one of the noblest acts of worship, and it serves as a way to embody the values of compassion and kindness.

In the Qur’an, Allah encourages Muslims to be mindful of the needs of others and to give generously to those less fortunate. For instance, Surah Al-Insan (76:8-9) states, “And they give food, in spite of love for it, to the needy, the orphan, and the captive, [saying], ‘We feed you only for the countenance of Allah. We wish not from you reward or gratitude.’”

This verse highlights the selflessness that Islam teaches Muslims to adopt when providing for those in need. Feeding the poor is not only about filling empty stomachs but about fulfilling a moral obligation and strengthening the bonds within society.

In this spirit, Maison Dawah continued its program of feeding distressed families, and brought help to 25 vulnerable families.

Each family received: • A food pack comprising of basic commodities such as milk, rice, cheese, tea, butter, lentils and canned foods among others. • A cleaning pack consisting of cleaning products like toothpaste, dish soap, multi-purpose detergent, multi-purpose detergent, soaps and WC detergent.

Each food pack was valued at approximately Rs 1,152, while meat portions valued at Rs 400 each were provided in addition to the food packs. The value of each cleaning pack is around Rs 559.

Alhamdulillah, all the food packs and cleaning packs have already been distributed.

May Allah ﷻ reward the donors abundantly, increase them in goodness and grant every beneficiary abundant barakah, ease, and steadfastness in faith. Aameen.
